We've been great friends for a long time now, and you've really helped me a lot. In fact, in some ways you've carried me through the most difficult times of my weight loss journey.
Don't get me wrong, you're still wonderful, but it's gotten to the point where you're all I think about. In fact, I long for you, often choosing you over who I should and that's just not right. So right now I think we need to spend less time together.
After last week's accidental running out of Diet Mountain Dew, and the resulting caffeine withdrawal, I realized I needed to cut back. WAY back. I don't know how much I was drinking before, but it was at least 2 liters a day (probably more). Don't bother telling me how bad that is.
So this past week I've been making a 2 liter bottle last 3 days (filling in the gaps with water and decaf iced tea), and I'm noticed some big changes. The strangest is that I've started dreaming again. For a long time I haven't had (or remembered, at least) ANY dreams. Nothing. And for the past few nights I've been having and remembering dreams. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I figure it's a sign that I'm headed in the right direction.

I'm doing some research (for a Dear Shredheads) on the good and bad of diet soda, and let's just say WOW. That's coming next week.

That's awesome Bill. I'm SOOOO proud of you.
I drink a cup of black tea in the afternoon now and it gives me a little zoooom, but that's about it.
Can't wait to see what you found on the diet soda.

Thanks - I forgot to mention that I've also stopped drinking any caffeine after lunch. With the whole dreaming/not thing, I figure keeping it as far away from bedtime as possible is a good idea.
The only problem I've had so far is one time while making iced tea (decaf) I forgot about it and let a pan boil dry. I loved that pan, man. *sniff* *pours a little DMD on the ground as a tribute*

Coke Zero keeps leaving messages on my voicemail and sending me mix tapes.

I drink one diet dew a day, first thing in the morning as a pick-me-up. I hope next week's post doesn't make me want to change that! lol

I LOVE pop. Diet pop, especially (weird, I know). But I've found it helpful if I refrain from buying it in the store and instead, only allow myself to drink it if we've gone out to eat. This happens once a week, during my cheat meal. So I don't feel badly about it!

Mountain Dew has caffeine in it?????? Horrified, I always give it to the kids if we go to KFC (yeah, yeah thats rubbish too...) when they ask for Pepsi, doh!
Just found this site, I'm going to track down the DVD and try the 30 day shred. Been doing a 12 week challenge that has kinda died in the ass these last two weeks due to kids illnesses and sleep deprivation.

Actually, I don't know if it has caffeine in it in Australia (basing your location on your blog). Apparently it does NOT have it in Canada, but does here in the USA. :(

ALL soda is terrible for you, be it diet or regular, caffeinated or non. Drink ice water instead.
