It's October! *cue the scary music* Forget the scary music, cue the music from 30 Day Shred. Which can be just as scary, seriously, have you listened to it?
Anyhow, you've already signed up - and if you haven't, see our October 30 Day Shred and 5K Challenge post - so it's time to get going. If you're doing the Shred challenge, you should:
- Get your starting weight.
- Get your starting measurements.
- Take before photos.
- Read "How to Use This Site" if you haven't already.
- Do the 30 Day Shred.
I know taking measurements/pics may not excite you, but trust me, you'll want those at the end of the month to see how far you've come. Measurements and photos make it seem more real, and sometimes the scale doesn't show you the results. You don't have to share if you don't want to, but it helps keep me honest.
Having said that, here are my October 1 stats:
Start weight: 187.8 lbs (my last WW weigh in)
Start measurements: 263.75 inches (ideas of what to measure)
And here's tired (literally) old (literally) me on October 1:
I was surprised that my measurements are up a bit since June, and since I replaced half of my Shred/Jillian days with running I can tell my ab definition is going away. This contest came just in time!

If you're blogging about your daily experiences, get your links to us so we can post them. And tweet them too - we want to know how you're doing!
Plus, I was going to write about my 10K today, and I promise that I'll get it done soon! If you're doing our running challenge, get started training with this post, and we'll talk about how to find a race soon!
[We're still seeking sponsors for prizing for our challenge. If you know someone who might be interested, please let us know!]

I will be joining both challenges this time! Not sure if I'll be up to speed for a 5Krace quite yet...but I think it will help get me back on track with C25K.

I'm planning on shredding this evening when Damon gets home. Since I've done 10 days of Level 1 twice, but have only done level 2 once and never level 3, I'm going to do them out of order. I'll be doing 2,3,1.
Oh, and I weighed myself this morning: 171.4. Up a couple pounds from my last weigh-in (a month ago! Can't believe it's been so long), but much better than expected after my gluttonous 2 week vacation.

I am totally looking forward to this 30 day shred. I actually purchased the video about 3 weeks ago and have yet to get started. Thanks for posting this challenge.

I am coming back for more. I first did the shred back in January to lose the baby weight. My daughter is a year now and though I am back to prep pregnancy weight, I am most definitely not in pre pregnancy shape. So I am going to give the shred another go around and see if I can't tone the body up some and start to feel more like my old self. I am definitely not brave enough to post pictures or stats, but all have been recorded and as bonus, I have brought my husband along for the ride. This should be fun;>

I found you guys yesterday. I have my first 5K tomorrow. I started LEVEL 2, Day 1 yesterday. I am in the swing of things. I will look to this amazing blog for encouragement and inspiration. I am proud to be a SHREDHEAD. Thanks for all you do.

Ok, I'm going to do this challenge this month! I'm a tad shy about posting photos of me in my exercise getup, but what the heck, right?
I'm planning on running MWF and doing the Shred TRS. Then resting on Sunday. But I suppose I can blog about that.

Just curious - why is it that you lose definition in the abs when you run?
Posted by: Laurie | 10/02/2009 at 03:33 PM
It's not the running, it's that I replaced every other Shred day with the running, so I'm not doing abs every day. Or, I WASN'T doing abs every day. That's been changed. :)

Ok, I'm in for the October challenge. I am on Day 4, Level 1 now, and I actually measured myself this time (nothing says intimacy like taking measurements with hubby!) I will have to give myself a Shred break on Tuesdays, though, as I've got lunchtime pilates and dinnertime kickboxing. Assuming since I'm being active, it counts :)
