Holy moly, it's September! As you finish your 30 Days of Shred, you may wonder what's next...do I keep doing Shred? Am I done? Do I have to start running? Can I get my stash of twinkies out from the toilet tank?
That, my friends, is up to you.
I'm planning to do the Sit-up/Squat/Push-up challenge as part of my routine, but you may want something that provides a better overall workout. If you enjoy Jillian's style, check out her other workouts: No More Trouble Zones (NMTZ) and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism (BFBM).
To paraphrase the great Jillian, these videos are no joke, people.
Each is nominally 40 minutes (plus warmup/cooldown periods), but run a bit longer. NMTZ is geared toward strength training and toning, but is fast paced and you definitely get cardio in. You do circuits of repeating exercises, and there are some awesome ab circuits to punish work your core. I can't say enough good things about this, and months later I still "love" doing it.
BFBM is the perfect complement because it focuses on cardio. However, Jillian incorporates strength moves so you get some of both. Again, you're doing circuits so nothing gets too repetitive, and if something feels like it's going to kill you...well, at least it will be over soon. There is some great ab work in this one as well. By the end of it I'm pouring sweat and am really tired.
These two DVDs are wonderful together. With NMTZ's strength training and BFBM's cardio, you get it all. The only downside is that they're a little long to squeeze into a busy day. The results are amazing, though, and you'll never be disappointed with how challenging these videos are.
If you like 30 Day Shred, I highly recommend them.

You've done those two BACK TO BACK?!?!? I need a full day to recover after I do ONE of them! Wow, wowwee, wowza.
Anyway, it'll be a while before I torture myself with those again. I've finished Day 3 of the Shred, Part Deux. My arms can barely type.

NO WAY!
I don't mean back to back - I mean one day do NMTZ and the next do BFBM. There were a couple of days where I'd intended to try, but at the end of the first there was no way...

I'm on my last day (today--hooray!!!) of the 30-day shred, and I've been wondering where to go next. I've got both of these DVD's and I'm thinking of alternating them as you suggest, and throw in a shred day when I don't have time to do a 40 min work out. I'm trying to keep changing things up, as that's what I have been doing. I guess I'm concerned that my body will get used to these workouts, and I'd have to find something more to mix it up. Any suggestions?
