If you're new to the Shredheads blog and are interested in joining in all the fun (okay, it's not really fun, but it will be when you fit into your pants!), then here's a quick tour of the site:
30 Day Shred
You can purchase the 30 Day Shred DVD (which is a series of three workouts lasting just under 25 minutes) on Amazon.com. If you've got Comcast On Demand, it's free, although I'm not sure if you can get all three levels. It's also available for purchase at Exercisetv.tv.
I did the 30 Day Shred everyday for the entire month of March. Since the Shred is split into three levels, I did Level 1 for 10 days, Level 2 for 10 days, and Level 3 for 10 days. You don't need anything but 3lb weights and a yoga mat (if you are working out on a hard surface). You should think about investing in a good sports bra, as well as new cross trainers. The Shred is tough on the knees and shins.
For gear suggestions and links, please check out the left side bar.
There's nothing to say that you can't mix up the levels, or do it every other day. However, if you want to maximize your results, then you'll want to do it everyday. Plus, it's only 20 minutes.
Make sure to take your weight as well as your measurements before you start. And be brave - take a picture. There's nothing like comparing a before and after!
Diet
I didn't follow the 30 Day Shred diet plan. Basically, I stopped eating after 8pm, drank only water (with a few tasty beverages - ahem - each week), and just watched what I ate. No boxes of donuts or gallons of ice cream.

I got this video from a yard sale and level three wont play... Could someone please help me out and outline what exercises are done in level 3? I am almost done with level 2 and really don't want to have to go buy another copy... I know how the workout is organized so I just need the exercises. Thank you so much! I didn't know where else to ask....

I have been using the 30 Day shred and a couple other Jillian and Biggest Loser DVD's. They work great. I have dropped 40 pounds in 2 months and stick to my diet and workout 6 days a week, at least 1 hour every night. You will never plateau with aerobic workouts like The 30 Day Shred. Great workout. Jillian is awesome.

Did the Shred last year while on WW and lost over 40lbs in my weight loss journey. I am up about 5 and want to take it off again. I am returing to my weight loss roots and starting journalling again and the 30 day shred. Should be done Feb 13th!

Today was day 2 for me. SO sore today, but I know I can do this! Hoping to lose around 20 pounds total (not necessarily in a month, but that would be great!)

Heard so much about Shred, finally started tonight. Really enjoyed it though was upset with myself on how hard it was to do jumping jacks without getting out of breath. That's OK though I know in the end I'll be doing just fine. Wanting to lose 80-100 lbs and have a feeling this will help a lot. Woo I'm on an exercise high right now haha so pumped I could do it again but will wait until tomorrow. Goodbye useless fat and low self-esteem :P

my best friend and I are on day three of the shred and I'm so happy I found this blog! I just took my first photo of myself to track my progress...it took a lot of courage to take that photo!!! So excited to keep up with this! Bye bye lbs!!

I'm 5' 5" and started off at 154lbs. I started the 30 day shred on the 01/29/10, and except for two days, have been at it every day. I made up for one of those days with a game of badminton the next day (after shredding in the morning). And I also do yoga once a week (went for yoga the other day but didn't shred). I'm eating about 1000-1200 calories a day. I've only lost 3lbs in the two weeks, which is a bit disheartening. I'm planning to stay at it, my goal is to lose 20 lbs!!
