Dammit, Kristen beat me to the punch yesterday with her confession. I knew this every other day thing was going to mess me up! Because I, too, was all ready to confess that I cheated on Jillian on Saturday night. You know I love her, but there comes a time in every man's life when he has to do a little experimenting.
I experimented with Bob, and I couldn't get it up.
My excitement level, that is. Bob Harper seems nice, but he's not really my style... In the parts I watched it seems like he only does one rep of each move, there's a lot of camera movement, and seeing people who look like me do the exercises doesn't do it for me. I'd rather see superhumans back there.
So on Sunday I did Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. It's the perfect complement to No More Trouble Zones, in that BFBM focuses on cardio. There is an ab circuit, and all the moves are familiar from Jillian's other videos. But it's so high cardio it's amazing, and overall the workout feels more intense than 30 Day Shred. Those across the body standing knee crunch things in the final circuit? Wow. The end is a blessing.
This video also has one of my favorite quotes of all time - possibly better than "We're going to need a bigger boat." (easy bonus points...where's that from?) At one point early on Jillian says something like "you should be feeling this, and should really feel alive." A few minutes later during the oblique plank crunch torture she says, "you should be so winded right now, you should be praying for DEATH it's so hard."
Winded? Check. Praying for death? Check.
While I love it, it's kind of hard to crank out an hour in the morning...I'm feeling like I want to switch back to Shred in the morning and do these videos occasionally in the afternoons for an extra kick. Then on weekends just do these. Getting two workouts done in a day is a little unrealistic, though. I'm going to try to give it a whole week in the morning and see how it goes.

Team Jillian Updates
30 Day Shred: Beginning Stats and Photos
A Milestone I Never Thought About
Just a quick update, and If I wasn't so sweaty, I'd burst into flames

I'm totally with you. I have seen awesome effects with Jillian's Boost Metabolism -- I apparently need that type of drenched-in-sweat cardio to get results.
It *is* long though, challenging for a daily basis sort of thing. One day I dealt with this by fast forwarding through the 2nd repetition of each circuit.

I'm confused... who wrote this? Can you make the author of the post display? Then feel free to delete this comment.

Sorry for the confusion - it was me (Bill/DaddyIsTired). I'm doing the Team Jillian posts, and we'll figure something out to make that more obvious in the future...

well since it is confession time...
is anyone else finding that they want to work out more and more and more...even (GASP!) taking away from valuable computer and blogging time? Still I am loving the results thatks to Jillian and now Bob and I know what I want to be when I grow up. If I keep this activity level up I just might do it too.
