America's Worst Cook: Not the Winner But Maybe a Tie for Third

I have decent prowess in the kitchen, but little desire to cook anything but take out. I suppose that's not really "cooking" but I do think heating things up is definitely an art in and of itself.

I've definitely cooked a few terrible dishes that no human mouth should have eaten (and thanks to the garbage disposal, one never actually did eat an entire mouthful), and I've forgotten an ingredient or two on more than one occasion.

But overall, my cooking isn't that bad. I figure, it can't be that hard to follow directions. And on most days it isn't.

What is difficult for me is to actually have the motivation and desire to cook. I realize there are people out there that LOVE to cook. I think those people are called chefs. For me, it comes down to the fact that I can never just cook; I have to shop for everything, put it away, cook the entire meal, and then on most nights, clean it up.

If it was just me cooking and that's it, I imagine it could be enjoyable. I love good food and I enjoy giving my family good food. But quite frankly, the better food takes too long to cook and too much brain power.

And I'd rather just save that for something else and use my tired fingers to dial up someone else who'll more than gladly cook it for me.
