Whaddya think?

I'd been thinking about making a drastic change for almost a year now, but after reading Roxanna's post about donating her hair to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths, which unlike Locks of Love only requires 8 inches of hair rather than 10 inches, I decided to wait.

Okay, that and I wanted to lose as much of the baby weight as possible (Only 10lbs left people! C'mon Shredheads Ripped in 30 Challenge!).

So, today was the big day, and I'm pretty happy with the results, even though my son greeted me with a "Mom, I don't like your hair like that" and my husband keeps telling me he does a double take every time he sees me walk into a room. 

Maybe that's not such a bad thing. Ahem.

Secret orange lover

Quinlan likes pink. Drew likes orange. And Margot, in true 3rd child fashion, likes whatever is leftover.

Usually, it's purple. Or green. Sometimes yellow, though that's what Drew takes if there's no orange.

Somehow, we sort of landed on purple and made it her color.

The bowls. Cups. Spoons. The toothbrush. We even promised her a purple booster seat since we got Drew an orange one.

And she's quite happy with purple as her color. 

Then a few days ago, while the two older kids were off with a neighbor friend, we were getting ready for dinner. Just the three of us - Margot, me, and the baby - and I asked her what bowl she wanted. 

I offered her purple which she took. And then told me to put aside the orange for "bro-bro."

"But he's not here," I said. Then I offered it to her. "Do you want the orange bowl and maybe not the purple?"

She refused. But something about her made me ask again.

"Are you sure? Bro isn't here, you know. You can take it."

And so she did. She snatched right from my hands. Along with the orange spoon and plate.

"I like oran-gee, Mommy" she said, smiling.

"But only when bro-bro not here."

God I love that girl.
