Listed below are links to weblogs that reference H1N1 Take 2 (Does that make it H2N2?):

As a mom to a preemie (2 months early) who has "sickness related asthma" (read: every cold requires weeks of nebulizer treatments), I got him the regular flu vaccine as soon as I was able, and just got him the H1N1 vaccine yesterday, the soonest that the pediatrician could get it to us.

My son would most definitely be hospitalized if he were to get the flu, and that's just not a risk I'm willing to take. The four weeks he spent in the NICU after birth were more than enough for me.

Website looks great! I have to say I know Dr. Schaffner and have interviewed him several times and I really trust what he has to say. He is a very smart, candid guy. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that you interviewed him. :)

Thanks for sharing important info about H1N1.
Your new web design looks fab!

I clicked through yesterday and was SO surprised. It looks spiff.

@MelissaBeth - I really AM seedy. Must be the word "masturbating" on there.

You will be very proud to know that my porn-blocker will not allow me to read your "About page." Mission accomplished.

Thanks, the flu information really is something of an overload in the news.

Secretia

Loved the new layout :) Nice design.

I love your new look!

Thanks for sharing the vaccine details. It drives me nuts that I hear people saying that the vaccine is "so new" that it can't be safe. Um, like all flu vaccines?

Thanks, Alicia, you just guaranteed I'm going to get 10 extra lashings tonight.

Love the new layout!

I have a hard time stomaching this information about H1N1. To say that the vaccine is absolutely safe, no problems, no risk, etc. is just not true. All vaccines have potential side effects, and I'd much rather hear from a doctor who is willing to admit that things aren't perfect, but that the risks are low, and that the vaccine is worth the risk.

LOVE the new layout. Very chic. Had I any questions about H1N1 and/or its vaccine I am sure they would have been answered here. As a healthcare provider, I'm vaccinated already and now just waiting for the peds doses to arrive for my kids, who have already both had H1N1 anyway. But honestly I just clicked on this post to comment on the fantastic new layout. At first I thought I'd gone to the wrong page!

@alicia - You have to push the back button. The About page is actually it's own separate blog (shhhh...).

:)

Your banner link doesn't work. When you are on the about page you can't get back to your home page, it just refreshes the page you are on. Might want to have your whipping boy :P check that out. Other than that love the new layout

I love love love the new layout!!!

LOVE the new layout, perfectly fab!

Holy Hollywood Boulevard Batman!

Now, how do I get that dude to redesign my sorry ass blog?

No comment about the vaccine stuff. I am ready for a vaccine lull but Holy Cow your new design is awesome!!

Steph

Back again to say that not only is this new layout so much more "you", but that your About page is exactly how I imaged you to be like if we ever meet.

Toodles,
Amira

Awesome, thanks for the info.

And again, I LOVE THE NEW LOOK!

Love, love, LOVE the new layout. It suits you perfectly!

Love the new layout! Believe it or not, just the other day I was thinking that you'd had that last design up for a while and wondering when you'd have something new. You and Whipping Boy did an awesome job!

Thanks for posting the info about the swine flu. Unfortunately, I feel like Dr. S's tone was so condecending that it's hard for me not to roll my eyes. Some people have concerns as you mention, but he just basically says they shouldn't without really addressing the concerns. Sounds like the company line, not someone who is really trying to address issues. But I appreciate your time and effort getting info about H1N1 out!

Love the new look. And kudos for providing real, substantive facts. It's a public service, what you're doing. Really.

Thank you for this post and the last one. I just made an appointment for my 14 month old to receive the shot on Monday and though I am nervous I do feel like we are making the right call.

Like you, I got the shot for two kids under 5, because both have potential health issues to make them more compromised, and both are in day care full time. If some kids are dying, well, it better not be mine, so I take the risks of the shot and hope for the best. What I would say to other parents is that if your child needs hospitalization, then they are ate greater risk for other opportunistic infections, and the docs who treat my higher needs baby all agree that I just need to keep her out of the children's hospital, so we said shots for our kids. Even though I have asthma, still can't find a shot in SLC without herculean efforts, but my pediatrician had first shots for my girls, with thimerosol, and we hope they'll have the second when the time comes. Best to all of you.

Love the updated layout; the tagline probably resonates more with your target audience!

This CBS news report contradicts your doctors comments about 99%...:

It may or may not turn out to be true that the vaccine is safe but simply to state "otherwise it would have never been licensed..." isn't a confidence builder. It would be more comforting for someone to acknowledge this was rushed and hurried and here is what we are doing to mitigate the risk of mistake....

Thanks for doing this interview and posting the information. I just wish I could find the damn vaccine.

I love your new website design. Lookin Good!

Wow! You done good, Whipping Boy!

Thanks for answering many of the Q's I had about the vaccination. My daughter's had the flu for the past week and let me tell you, it sucks. I will gladly get the shot for all of us when we can to avoid a repeat visit.

Thank you for getitng all of this information! It answered a lot of my questions, and some I didn't even know I had. :)

AWESOME new layout, too!
