Heya i'm for the first time here. I came across this board and I find It truly helpful & it helped me out much. I am hoping to present one thing again and help others such as you helped me.

That’s good that we are able to get such pretty things here and it opens completely new chances for us.

People all over the world get the mortgage loans in various banks, because that is fast and easy.

I have a whole frigging Christopher Cross album, you know, he did that song, "sailing"

Anything with Akon or Chris Brown. Yeah, I hate to admit it but I know all the words.

Let's see.
Debbie Gibson. Backstreet Boys. I swear that I am not 12, but I think my music brain never really grew up. Mily Cyrus too, but I have a 5 year old who likes her, so that's my excuse. I don't think I need to say anymore.

I'm scared to write it down, but here goes:

Beep by the Pussycat dolls

It was on the soundtrack in my Step class and I loved the beat and when I asked the instructor what song it was b/c I had to have it on my IPOD workout mix, she looked it up on the CD cover and just laughed at me.

Then my husband laughed at me when I asked him to download it off of ITunes for me...

And my best friend laughed at me when it came on during the Random play cycle on a recent road trip.

Right Kind of Love - Jeremy Jordan
Penny Lover - Lionel Richie
Sometimes - Britney Spears
I Wanna Be the One - Stevie B
Forever Your Girl - Paula Abdul
Everything Changes - Kathy Triccoli

There are three less-than-popular bastard songs I've been looking for for years. Maybe y'all can help a sista out:

Happy - Deja Vu (I think?) ("Happy is what we are when we're together...")

Love Me All Up (Don't know the artist, but the song was a hit in the very early nineties by a female singer)

Romeo and Juliet (duet, don't know the artists - "I'm your Romeo, you're my Juliet")

Must hide in corner now.

Kung Fu Fighting

Except I can only sing it with the wrong words... just like I learned it.

Well I THOUGHT I left a comment..lets try again

I Feel Good by James Brown

Sound of Music Soundtrack

Yanni

Josh Groban

I go from that to Eminem's Fack and Shake That Ass (my 2 favorite ipod songs btw) or AC/DC

James Brown - I Feel Good

Sound of Music sound track

Yanni

Josh Groban

I go from that to Eminem's Fack or Shake That Ass (which btw are probably my 2 favorite songs on my ipod)... or AC/DC.

Pleasant Valley Sunday by the Monkees

Baker Street, Mambo Number Five, Chumbawumba, Closing Time, and about a bazillion other one-hit wonders.

(blushing)

Come on Eileen, Dexy's Midnight Runners

Shannon don't feel too bad, my kid was completely into the Ramones at 6 but just because it was fun to jump around to.

I have never commented here but I just could NOT resist...
my Ipod list is loaded with "those" songs! For instance-
Big n Rich Save a horse ride a cowboy
Willy Nelson and Toby Keith- Beer for my horses
Anything NKOTB
Tiffany I think were alone now
Flock of Seagulls I ran
and my personal fave Onamatapeia by John Prine.
cuz thats how I roll!

I think at least a third of my iPod is filled with showtunes. I love a good Broadway musical.

My truly shameful songs?

T.a.t.u (remember them from 2002?) - I have the whole album, not just their one hit (All the Things She Said)

See You Again by Miley Cyrus - I'm SO not 14, but apparently wish I was.

...and I have several traditional Irish songs, too. But they're performed by Gaelic Storm, so that gives them a little bit of coolness.

Toxic, Britney Spears.

Don't you just want to lap dance on your hubby (or someone else) when you hear that song???

Soooo many SSBs I could list... Lots of 80s stuff (yes, I've got Adam Ant CDs, yes, lots of New Wave too...), plus some really dodgy stuff like John Denver, Neil Diamond (LOVE Neil!), disco and... perhaps my ace card... BARRY MANILOW. If I hear the opening coconut plonking noise to "Copacabana", I just HAVE to get up and dance. Always have, always will.
And I'm never ashamed by my taste in music. My husband hates just about all of it, but I don't care.
Oh, and I ADORED "Confessions on the dance floor" by Madonna, too. Know all the words to Hung Up, as does my elder daughter (6 and a half)... She's now "into" Rihanna, God help me...

Lol,

Ace of Base
Cascada
Britney
Boyz II Men
Beastie Boys
Blu Cantrell
Brandy
Christina Aguleria
TLC
Destiny's Child
Jessica Simpson
LFO
Pink, need I go on. I win.

Okay- okay...

My two are "groove is in the heart" by Black Box (love the disco rhythm and totally danceable-ness of that song!)
and the one I am totally ashamed of is...
Eminem - "Without Me" which starts out "two trailer park girls go round and round" and the rest is $@&%, &$%# #*^$& and other various and sundry words that you don't want your kids to repeat - EVER!

Truth be known, I love that song!!

Ok... ok... bastard CD's in my collection as I am the only one in my family that doesn't have an Ipod/Mp3, would have to be UB40's Red wine, Fergie's Glamorous, PCD Buttons, NKOTB (oh lord), just about anything hair band or grunge. Love some Pearl Jam's Jeremy. And yes there is the Chicago Soundtrack in the car that is played at least once a week. But wait I am saving the best for last... and The HUbs hates, I mean HATESSS this one.
Ready....

Garth Brooks Double Live... At the top of my lungs, with the windows rolled down.
What it is acceptable, I live in NC. :)

show tunes...*hides*

I have "Baker Street" "Hip to Be Square" and "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz

I am hooked on the Disney Songs.

Gettin Jiggy With It and I know all the words THE SHAME!

Pump up the jam
pump it up
pump it up

i will insert this song on my iphone...

My husband took over my ipod and filled it with songs from the 80's that all have the word HELL in the title. Heavy metal that make my ears bleed.

My bastard songs include "Where does my heart beat now?" by Celine Dione, "after all" by Cher, "hard to say I'm sorry" by Chicago and the POWER by Snap!

'Saturday Night' by the Bay City Rollers.

Top that!

But 'Good Vibrations' is an all-time personal fave. A friend and I always ask for it at weddings....

Donnie D's on the backup
Drug free, so put the crack up
No need for speed
I'm anti-d-r-u-g-g-i-e!

Tom Jones version of Kiss - I play it over and over again! The girls in the office get pissed off when I dance in my chair and make it squeak. :-) I HEART the Art Of Noise!

Talk Dirty to Me by Poison

and UmmmmmBop....

Oh the shame.

I am not even ashamed. COME ON EILEEN! by Dexy's Midnight Runners. Rather than you roll the window uppers, I roll those windows down, so that all can enjoy the bliss. Of course, I do than when I am listening to musicals too. So shoot me.

"I Am The World Trade Center"-Shoot You Down is the name of the song.....but I don't care-I just love it.

Lots of good stuff, but also Britney Spears - Hit me baby one more time. Story behind that one. Along with some litigation. Crap.

Oh geez.. I have so many of these songs, but Ludacris's 'What's your Fantasy.'

Egads...

My Bastard iPod Song is....

I can't believe I'm about to admit this......

Although, I already did on my blog. I have a "Embarrassing Song that I Like of the Week" feature.

It's....

Love and Affection by The Nelsons.

There. I said it. Wrote it. Whatever.

OK, the scary thing is that my guilty iPod pleasure is not even old school. It's new and mortifying... but you know you love it too. American Idol?? All the David Cook songs... c'mon, I'm not alone, right? Everyone?? Please??

one song? my ipod is the poster child for bastard song LISTS. anyone remember "the hampster dance"? or how about "boom boom boom" by the venga boys? "i want a hippopotamus for christmas"? i could go on and on and on...

Ok, I didn't realize that half the 80's pop I listen to is on everyone's Bastard list (Bizare Love Triangle, or anything Duran Duran that went top 40).

At the top of my bastard list:
Hollaback Girl. "mmm, dis my $#!t... it's bananas B A N A N A S"

My ipod is full of bastard music! Britney, Fergie, Miley, even the *gasp* Pussycat Dolls. Every once in awhile I love to drive around BLASTING old cheesy music though. Stayin' Alive, Footloose, etc.

I'm so ashamed!

"My friend" has songs from the TV show Fame on her iPod and when she's playing her iPod really loudly over the speakers in her minivan and those Fame songs come on? She makes sure the windows are shut up real tight, so no other drivers know what a total moron/loser she really is. I know, though and she really, really is.

I tell people I listen to Bob Dylan and James Taylor because it makes me feel smart and retro, but what I don't tell people is that when the kids are in bed and my husband's outta town, I dance around the house in my underwear listening to the ATeens "Dancin' On the Ceiling".
Shhhh.

I think that my iPhone may be where "Bastard Songs" come to be loved. I have tons, and I'm not ashamed to listen to them!

PEARMAMA _ OMG that was a riot - LOL

MILEY CYRUS???

You win.

But Billy Ocean takes a very close second.

I recently have claimed all my cheesy music. I no longer make excuses. Some things I just like because I like them.

Bat Out of Hell. Meat Loaf and Steinman, man. Pure genius. You don't get more overwrought and less subtle than Bat Out of Hell.

I love it, much to my husband's consternation. But he likes ABBA, so I guess we're totally even.

Oh, they're allll bastards. But at least then they have plenty of siblings to keep them company.

Especially the Air Supply.

"From the windows....to the walls...til the sweat drips down MY BALLS!"

skeet skeet skeet skeet.

Ying Yang twins. Ssssshhhh, don't tell anyone. I'm going to burn in hell for this.

What frightens me about this list is that I am now remembering long-forgotten songs I used to love.

I blame all of you for any embarrassing ipod additions.

What's already on there:

O L'amour
Bizarre Love Triangle
Centerfold

There are many others, too many to list.

My most recent bastard song, of which I am horribly ashamed, is See You Again by *shudder* Miley.

*SIGH*...
The Humpty Dance.
Worst part? My 6-month-old daughter thinks it's funny as hell...or maybe she's laughing at my dancing...

i *might* like that stupid-ass song by Miley Cyrus. but i tell everyone that i don't. because i'm embarrassed.

Bastard song would have to be "Torn" by that Aussie soap star who claimed she wrote it and didn't.

However, I have other embarrassing things on there like Bartok's ENTIRE Mikrokosmos. That's some great dinner music there. . .

Aldo Nova's Fantasy.

WOOHOO!!

Old skool Beastie Boys!

Anything Donna Summer!

Show Me What You Got - Jay Z

Chevy Van - Sammy Johns

There it Go (whistle song) - Juelz Santana

Wicked Game - REAL loud, Chris Isaak

Aint Even Done with the Night - John Mellencamp

Brick House. Wins points for being old, funky, AND incredibly politically incorrect!

But you know, she's mighty mighty, just lettin' it all hang out...

Oh my God, my entire ipod is bastard songs. If it's cheesy, got a great beat and shitty lyrics I'm all over it like white on rice. It's why I got an ipod. So I could listen to my music without shame.

September by Earth Wind and Fire
PYT by Michael Jackson
Get Your Shine On by Jesse *shudder* McCartney

I can't go on. Just know it's two gigabytes of pure crap and I love it.

Oy, I have many but a few off the top would be a handful of *gasp* Hanson songs and many High School Musical songs.......

Glamorous Life - Sheila E.

Oh, I have so many guilty pleasures on my playlist, it's embarassing!

For one thing, I LOVE the soundtrack to Josie and the Pussycats!

I KNOW!

Seriously, it's my favorite CD to run to. That, and the Freaky Friday soundtrack.
Dear god, there's actually a Lindsay Lohan song on there.
;) Becky
http://www.stinkylemsky.typepad.com/

My husband, Candy Ass, is a lotta bit Country and I'm waaaay more Rock N Roll so between us, there are a whole lotta bastards on the iPods.

But the song we both love that is absolutely straight up embarrassing and fucking awesome all at the same time is...

Notorious BIG's "Big Poppa."

Don't even lie, you love it... when they call you Big Poppa.

the new girl:
that would be: everybody dance now by c&c music factory

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b714Wi4CDsQ

Oh, Jeezuz.

I have so many, it would be impossible to list them all. Everything from the 80's, no?

I have Adam Ant's Greatest Fucking Hits, dude.

lmao.

What song was it? C-n-C Music Factory?

On my command, now hit the dance floor...

Get Out of My Dreams/ Get Into My Car
Billy Ocean.

I can't stop loving it. I sing is at the top of my lungs and my husband has threatened to get me a lobotomy to make me forget I like that song.

Abbyjess -- I did karaoke to Jenny from the Block.

Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got.

I'm Too Sexy (Right Said Fred), and also Blame it on the Rain, by *gasp* Milli Vanilli.

Unclean!

HOUSE OF PAIN gets my ass shaking every time. Bwwwwahahaha

In fact, must go listen to it on YouTube now.

(and download it -- great one to sneak on the hubs' mp3)

(x-posted from mah twitter:) Umm, that would be "Photograph" by Def Leppard. http://tinyurl.com/58svu6 I'm sorry, that song is awesome.

Baby Got Back.

Yes, I have my iPod "guilty pleasures" and I most of the time I never admit to them but...

I'm horrified to admit it since I'm definitely the alternative music type, but its Jenny From the Block (J.Lo). *gasp* Horrifyingly bad.

However I take solace in admitting my husband's guilty pleasure is Toxic by Britney Spears.

Kayla, I didn't get my schoolhouse rocks songs from iTunes, and I don't think they're available there but might be downloadable from somewhere. I had a CD I bought, oh, 11-ish years ago from the BMG music club, which was imported to my iTunes;>

I'm not a mom (please don't shoot me) but I'd have to say My Sharona, best sung LOUD (and jump around to the guitar bits)

That's probably dating me a little bit, too. Whateva.

Who's Johnny? by El Debarge
Freeze Frame by J geils band

Shhh, don't tell anyone.

My ipod has a whole "playlist" full of bastard songs. Because of my undying respect and loyalty for you and to your blog, I will fess up:

Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby is at the top of the list, followed by:
Britney Spears-Oops I Did It Again.
Hoku - Dumb Blonde
Spice Girls - Wannabe
House of Pain - Jump
Abba. Period.
Duran Duran. Period.
80s music. Period.
Miami - Will Smith
Night Fever - You know who.
Stayin' Alive - You still know who.
Funky Cold Medina - Ton Loc
Bust A Move - Young MC
La Belle Et Le Bad Boy - MC Solaar
I'm Too Sexy - Right Said Fred
I Think I'm In Love - Jessica Simpson
Steal My Sunshine - Len

And now, I'm going to get into the shower because I feel unclean.

Oh, the shame.

Also, holy hell, how badly did I just date myself with that list?

This post made me LMAO! My DH has been kept thoroughly up-to-date on cool music by my sister, who is uber-cool. I, however, have been stuck in the 90s. I sparkly heart love 90s hair bands. Guns N Roses, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison, etc. And my 4 yr old and 2 yr old can both sing (or shout) most of Welcome to the Jungle. They call it "that Jungle song", LOL! My SSB song would HAVE to be the Backstreet Boys "I Want it That Way". Don't tell. I know every word to that song and generally tend to sing it as loud as I can, after I roll up all of the windows, of course :X

Ain't Nobody (Chaka Kahn)
Which you might remember from Breakin'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXuNa_h804c

Baller by Lil' Troy. It's a terrible song and I should be ashamed. And I am. Although this is pretty funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O8lhF3BU-s (Not for little eyes and ears!)

I pretty much have no shame. You know how the New Kids On The Block are making some kind of sick, sad comeback? Yep, I'm that girl at the grocery store, mouthing every word coming through the speakers.

But I listen to just about every sort of music there is, and I pick things up quickly. So you'll hear me singing NKOTB, but also Billy Joel, The White Stripes, Marilyn Manson, Weezer, Poison, REM, and occasionally Reba McEntire.

Yeah, like I said, I have no shame.

Silver and Cold ROCKS...

AND OMG you can download school house rocks songs...

Uh...

In Da Club.

Because, you know, I'm into having sex, I ain't into making love.

That's easy - "Get This Party Started" by Pink. Embarrassing, no? :)

(Funkytown is SO AWESOME! Note to self: go download a copy. Ahem.)

On my morning walk, I listed to Pussycat Dolls. Don'tcha.

And I sang along.

Also, my 17yo daughter likes to "help" pick out music for my player and she always RickRolls* it. I never suspect a thing, just like Charlie Brown and the football.

(*somewhere she hides a copy of "Never gonna Give You Up" and when it plays we groan, but listen anyway.)

Where is the Love, by the Black Eyed Peas. I friggin' LOVE that tune.

I'm going with the Chicken Noodle Soup song; it's awful, positively awful, but it cracked me and my husband up so much on our drive home from an out of town wedding (like, I would have been on the floor laughing had it not been for the seat belt) that I love it.

I also have several School House Rock soundtrack songs on my playlist, which often get me weird looks.

I am dating myself here--Ice Ice Baby (Vanilla Ice). I loved this song when I was a teen.

I also have a few Nelly songs and they do stand out in stark contrast to the rest of the music. but I love it.

"Silver and Cold" by A.F.I.

My husband makes fun of me for this on a regular basis.

Oh, and "Annie's Song" by John Denver.

Now you know.

o MrsWaltz - I think that this would be a bases for divorce. SEE we are a melting pot in my casa - I am cuban and love my music from both here and there. MY HUSBAND is Indian (yes from India) and he loves music from here (he loves Biggie Smallz (am I saying that right) and Reggae) MIND YOU THE MAN IS AN UPTIGHT CPA, that lived in the burbs is WHOLE LIFE. IN his IPOD there are at least 20 Indian songs, IF they ever ever end up in my pod, and one of their shrieking voices comes blaring at me - it is over. Done.

I never did get into Britney, but I tend to stick with the "oldies" like Right Said Fred's I'm Too Sexy and Brim Full Of Asha by Cornerstone. Love those songs- not afraid to admit it. But AM embarrassed at my hubby's constant love for hair bands. Can't get over that. It's painful.

Steph

HEY - LOL Ihave no idea but I simply LOVE HIM. I have gone to see him twice and once it was horrific - I had two drunk assh0les behind us screaming out to damien all the things they wanted to do to him - ugggg I can totally get it when you are like 12 but at 30..Seriously get some class.

If he sings out of tune, never noticed because I am no expert and to be honest I listen to his lyrics... MY HUSBAND says that if he ever wants to commit suicide and he is in doubt he will listen to ONE Damien Rice song to put him over the edge!!! YUP he is not a fan.. Hopefully it is not Women like a man.

AND THE LITTLE MAN IS SO FREAKING HOT...

BTW speaking of hot can ANYONE tell me when did Chris Martin STOP getting beat by the ugly stick....HE IS LOOKING PRETTY DARN Caliente

My 'Pod has recently become communal (although I never got a memo) and I can't begin to tell you the crap that PA has put on there. But since we're confessing our own SSBs (and after some of these confessions I feel no need to pretend mine is PA's fault)....mine's that "Wild Wild West" song from (gulp) the 80s.

Kayla -- this song I speak of was stuck between two Damien Rice songs.

Which made it a big worse. And what is with Damien Rice and him singing JUST slightly out of tune. Not so loving that.

Um...I actually do have Stacey Q on my shuffle.

And my list of bastard songs would take an entire post. I actually wrote one way, WAY back in response to a meme tag.

You want a nice LOVELY Irish guy that will appease both you and the hubby - Listen to Damien Rice, he is all folky, college crowds LOVE HIM and his music is KILLER..

Okay back to the crap I listen too... I can belt out any Fiona Song like a deranged bitter woman when really I have ZIP to be bitter about and From time to time (2x a week) the soundtrack to Chicago and Sweeny Todd (broadway soundtracks) go on in my car and I belt out EVER SINGLE ONE OF THEIR SONGS and EVEN go as far as pretending to play the string insturments:)

DORK VILLE

Everyone has at least one SSB Britney song that they know and love.

(Or is that just me?)

oh man. my mp3 player has so many types of music on it.
I would have to say...the ones I ALWAYS sing along to, are Cher. Heh. Half-breed, Black magic woman, the beat goes on, gypsies, tramps and theives.. ohhhhh so many. :)
and yes. I do fully realize I am a big old dork!

(gulp...) Mine is "Toxic" by Britney Spears. And trust me... I am DEEPLY ashamed.

I have several SSB songs- all of them by New Kids On The Block!(the old school stuff) I love to dance and sing and pretend I am 12 again! And of course I know all the words(even some of the dance moves) because I had the videos too people! Good gravy, I was obsessive!

Wait... what song was it that he put on?

As for me... right now it's "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie. (I know... I KNOW!)

I have the *explicit* version of Golddigger on my iPod and LOVE it. I sing it loudly with my little earbuds in. It's ugly. Sometimes when my iPod gets plugged in at a party I'll hear the beginning with Jamie Fox sounding like Ray Charles and I pounce on the thing to skip it. Geez, I'm a white girl in Atlanta and have a song with the n-word in it. NOT appropriate.

I'm a total dork mom since most of my music consists of movie soundtracks...and not neccesarily good movies either.
