The House of Puke and Snot, Now with a little less puke, but way more snot
Well, we made it through the night without puking, only to be greeted this morning with mini-puke (which is way better than frequent-puke -- her evil twin from yesterday). And her little brother snot-man. And their father, now the snot-master.
I feel like "one of these things does not belong here." Or maybe Ashton Kucher is going to walk in and tell me that I'm "Punk'd" because well, I'm not sure I can take another day of this, people.
But I can't go back to my germ-filled environs without offering up a fantastic prize, courtesy of the gorgeous and talented Tania, owner of Julian & Co. When her son was born at 29 weeks and the ID bracelet she had purchased was too big, she decided to figure out how to make one of her very own.
No kidding.
And what she does is pretty dang fantastic. So lucky you! She's giving away a lovely birth necklace to a lucky Motherhood Uncensored reader. All you have to do is go over to her site and tell me what your favorite piece is over there in my comments, you know, other than the birth necklace.
Speaking of which, I have one, and as you all know, I'm not the sentimental one, but when I wear it, I get compliments all the time. I'm not saying you should want it to boost your self-esteem, but it's always nice to get attention for something other than your tantruming three-year-old.
And Valentine's Day is coming up. So send the hint to the hubster. Or get him something.
Contest ends 2/29/08. One entry per person, per url, per email (you get my drift). I'll pick one winner at random.

I love the peanut allergy bracelet. My darling grandson has a severe peanut allergy. It is terrifying to think about what could happen to him if he were to accidentally ingest peanuts or peanut products...it's even more terrifying to think that someone could have no idea what was going on with him so wouldn't know how to help him. The bracelet solves a lot of that. Pick me! I love the birth necklace too!

my favorite is the 'add a birthstone' option. i like the circular, modern design to it.

I absolutely love the nursing necklace! How cool!!

I love the DelMar series - Number 8. Hoping I win!

I love the dog tags for dad. Even if i don't win your contest, I may have to suggest them to DH..My first son (4 1/2) was born the day after my birthday and #2 is due close to my hubby's birthday and our anniversary (8 weeks to go!)
Posted by: Kelli | February 28, 2008 at 10:17 AM
I love the nursing necklace. I fought hard to get my daughter to nurse full time and comfortably, so nursing has (unpredictably) become a real source of pride for me. Love it.
Posted by: Timi | February 24, 2008 at 04:28 AM
I love love love it all, but the nursing necklace is SOOO cute :)
Posted by: angi | February 23, 2008 at 07:53 PM
I'll bite. I have never seen the appeal of jewelry celebrating your children until recently. January 26 to be exact. Now I totally get it.
Love the charms for a charm bracelet. All of her things are beautiful though.
Posted by: canape | February 22, 2008 at 10:37 PM
You had me at "helllooooo..." I wasn't going to enter since I have twins and *all* but figured it wouldn't hurt to throw my hat in the ring since I am absolutely, positively IN LOVE with the del mar series (any of 'em but esp. like 7 and 8) and can not (thank you, crappy economy) afford to honor my kiddos with such fabulousness right now. But I do want it. And some say that right now I really need it. Over and out...
Posted by: Minderama | February 22, 2008 at 06:53 PM
all of her things are beautiful! i'm really partial to the dog tag style necklace for the dads though. keep the names close to his heart...

I love the Nursing necklace. Such a good idea and we are expecting a new nurser in October.
Posted by: Katie | February 22, 2008 at 11:55 AM
I like the necklace for Mom in gold. So pretty! My kids are older (13 & 14), but it would be so nice to have something like that to remind me of when they were little!
Posted by: Sarah | February 22, 2008 at 10:04 AM

Mini JULIAN & Co. for Mom- i know it's very similar but i like the circles!
Posted by: ali | February 22, 2008 at 09:38 AM
The Mom Bracelet is really cute - I prefer bracelets so I don't have to worry about matching my earrings!
Posted by: Lissa | February 22, 2008 at 09:36 AM
I like the dog tags. I could add one for each of my kids. (3)
Posted by: allie | February 21, 2008 at 11:30 AM
They are all gorgeous. I love the mini Julian & Co. I would pick the hands for Merrie and the feet for Gracie, my little twins. Very neat!
Posted by: laura | February 19, 2008 at 05:37 PM
Shiny! The nursing necklace is very sleek. But I LOVE the fact that she has jewelry for dads. Cufflinks?! Awesome.
Posted by: McMama | February 18, 2008 at 12:02 AM
I hid in the shadows but I am ready to be exposed courtesy of this nifty contest!! I love the Julian & Co site, such beautiful handiwork. I totally love the cuff links, nursing necklace or mommy bracelet! Timeless.
Posted by: ElephantHugs | February 12, 2008 at 02:22 PM
I absolutely love the For Mom Bracelet. It's absolutely gorgeous. I'd need something to fit both of my girls though! LOL
Posted by: Monica | February 11, 2008 at 05:20 PM
I would have to say that my favorites are the for mom pendant disc and the birth necklaces. Their jewelry is so precious and thoughtful and timeless!

I love the
Del Mar 7s..

I won a birth necklace from sk*rt and I love it so much. My family and friends always ask where I got it and I'm starting to think I need Tania's business cards, I've been writing her web address on napkins quite a bit! :)
Posted by: Dana | February 06, 2008 at 04:47 PM
I would love one of those id bracelets for my daughter!!
Posted by: mommiebear2 | February 06, 2008 at 09:43 AM
Another vote for the mini for mom.
That is just so cute and perfect.
Posted by: kellylynn | February 06, 2008 at 08:01 AM
Damn, that Julian & Co has some sweet action over there. Frankly, I want a birth necklace with MY birth info on it...like a modern dog tag. That would be the cat's ass. I can commemorate my kids (5yr henry & 1yr sadie) with some other trinket...a custom bobblehead, snow globe, or 3-D holographic portrait in lucite. I'm partial to the 1 del mar 8 pendant on 16" ball chain...it would look zexy on me.
Posted by: Beans | February 05, 2008 at 11:55 PM
I really like the nursing necklace.
Posted by: Carrie moore | February 05, 2008 at 11:24 PM
Oh my goodness! I love the NICU Baby necklace... My own son was born just shy of 28 weeks at 3 pounds 5 ounces, and I would love to have that for myself. :)
Posted by: Ifferjenn | February 05, 2008 at 08:16 PM
I fell in love with the daddy cufflinks. Unfortunately, my hubs would never wear them!
Posted by: Fiesty | February 05, 2008 at 07:26 PM
I really love your blog and I really love both the birth necklace and the nursing necklace. I could never spend the money on something so nice because my daughter would take it, break it, eat it, color it, throw it, whatever, but if I win it then I can explain that it's special and she can't touch it. She's 3, so it's not hard to convince her of some things with certain logic...
Posted by: GGmom | February 05, 2008 at 04:08 PM
I love the nursing necklace. I've breastfed a three year old, an almost two year old,and my newest is six weeks old. (Thankfully, not at the same time!) After having them engorged, deflated, tugged, and tortured, I like the idea of a badge of honor, and it looks like that! Besides, the girls need a little something something for all their hard work!
Posted by: Mayo | February 05, 2008 at 01:52 PM
I love the Julian & Co. Nursing Necklace!
Posted by: Lauren | February 05, 2008 at 01:35 PM
Hi. I am possibly your biggest lurker. Though I lurk with the best intentions =) I love your blog. You always make me chuckle. And Julian and Co. has gorgeous jewerly. I love the mom bracelet. Maybe I'll have an early Valentines Day!
Posted by: Michele | February 05, 2008 at 12:03 PM
That nursing necklace is really beautiful and I can see how it would come in handy.
Posted by: maresi | February 05, 2008 at 09:09 AM
I love the toggle Mom's bracelet it's just georgous, but would love anything from the Del Mar Range, we don't get anything like this in Australia, so sweet!
Posted by: Jessica Brown | February 05, 2008 at 01:48 AM
I too love the JULIAN & Co. for Mom Bracelet, so that get's my vote. (Although I never win anything..)
Posted by: Jenni | February 04, 2008 at 09:43 PM
JULIAN & Co. for Mom Bracelet!! I love it, so pretty and simple.
Posted by: Casie | February 04, 2008 at 05:14 PM
I love the nursing necklace, but now that I have an older nursling, I'm finding necklaces to be less "welcome distraction for nursling" and more "strangulation risk for mom." So I would go with the lovely JULIAN & Co. for Mom Bracelet, to avoid having my own child accidently kill me while nursing (and simultaneously standing on his head and humming "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.").
Posted by: Jessica | February 04, 2008 at 01:49 PM
I love the cuff links. Hubby wears cuff links all the time, and this would be a really good Father's Day gift for him... Thanks for the link!
Posted by: caramama | February 04, 2008 at 01:46 PM
I loved the birth necklace but I know the rules I'm too far away, so just putting in my euros worth!
Posted by: J from Ireland | February 04, 2008 at 12:54 PM
I like the cufflinks for Daddy - it's a very classy way for him to show off the new baby! I think my husband would get a kick out of it.
Posted by: Kristin | February 04, 2008 at 12:52 PM
I may just have to get my husband the dog tags for his birthday. He only wears his wedding band, ever, but our boys have him just that whipped that I think he'd wear, and love, the dog tags.
Posted by: Michele | February 04, 2008 at 12:38 PM
The birth necklace is my favorite but I also think the key chain is adorable and would make a great gift for my husband.
Posted by: tori | February 04, 2008 at 12:35 PM
I can't decide which I like better the nursing necklace or the mom bracelet.
Posted by: Kathy | February 04, 2008 at 12:32 PM
Little late, but love the simplicity of the birthstones. Keeping this in mind for when my niece gets preggers!
Posted by: ChrisA | February 04, 2008 at 12:11 PM
I love the Julian & Co Mom mini.
Posted by: jessicab | February 04, 2008 at 12:08 PM
The nursing pendant gets my fav vote because it's simple, yet brilliant. Who doesn't need to keep a nursing baby's hands occupied. I can't wait to order this for my daughter who is about 6 1/2 month pregnant now.
Posted by: Peg | February 04, 2008 at 11:25 AM
I too like the del mar line, I also like the JULIAN & Co. for Mom Bracelet. The charm idea is nice... something for all your children on one chain.
Posted by: Norah | February 04, 2008 at 10:37 AM
I love the JULIAN & Co. for Mom Bracelet.

I love the Mini for Mom.
These are fabulous so simple and so complete.
Posted by: kellylynn | February 04, 2008 at 09:44 AM
Wow! Beautiful jewelry. I love the Mini JULIAN & Co. for Mom. I'd like to see a design for moms of twins and/or maybe a family pendant since I have four kiddos.
Posted by: LB | February 04, 2008 at 09:06 AM
All of her stuff is so cute and stylish! But I'd have to say my favorite is the nursing necklace!
Posted by: Lela | February 04, 2008 at 01:50 AM
I love the medical alert bracelet. My daughter is allergic to peanuts so I should definately get her one of those one day.
Posted by: mamafabulosity | February 04, 2008 at 01:29 AM
I love the large birth necklace. It's large enough to be noticed but still discreet. I would absolutely love something like this to commemorate the birth of my one and only child!
Posted by: Lora | February 03, 2008 at 11:19 PM
I love them all, but the del mar 7's in the square is too cute!!
Posted by: FENICLE | February 03, 2008 at 11:12 PM
I like the heart id bracelet!
Posted by: bombaygirl | February 03, 2008 at 09:02 PM

I'm yet another one who likes the nursing necklace. My little one still tries to tear my nipple off to look around.
Posted by: Veronica | February 03, 2008 at 08:08 PM
I really like the nursing necklace...I'm expecting #2 and would love to get something special for me!
Posted by: Jen | February 03, 2008 at 07:54 PM
I love the nursing necklace. Lucy loves to play with anything around my neck, so this would be perfect. My friend just got the birth necklace and it is so lovely!
Posted by: Amy Jo | February 03, 2008 at 07:39 PM
I'm kinda partial to the bracelet myself. Love the look of these! I'm even thinking one for Grandma for Mother's Day...
Posted by: Molly's mom | February 03, 2008 at 06:55 PM
I have three kids, the youngest of whom is 5 weeks tomorrow. now that my nipples are no longer cracked, I like the idea of the nursing necklace. How many of us have had that poor thing almost ripped off by a distracted nursling?!?
Posted by: kate | February 03, 2008 at 06:25 PM
I really love the JULIAN & Co. Nursing Necklace. I have a thing for circles.
Posted by: slowcookingmama | February 03, 2008 at 06:20 PM
I love both the birth necklace and the Mom bracelet. She really has beautiful stuff!
Posted by: Heather | February 03, 2008 at 05:36 PM
I am loving the Julian and Co for Mom bracelet. I like being able to add charms when you have more children, or the birthstones as well.
Posted by: Gwen | February 03, 2008 at 05:34 PM
The birth necklace would be super duper; other than that my fave is the birth keychain, then it's with me all the time, even when I'm not up to wearing jewelry.
Posted by: Shannon | February 03, 2008 at 04:49 PM
Love the little hands and feet charms and would get one of each + 1 for my little wee ones and wear all 3 together on a necklace. Super!
Posted by: picklemommy | February 03, 2008 at 04:42 PM
I love the Del Mar series, very clean and simple. I have two kids, so the smaller pendants would be perfect. Thinking of ordering one for myself, I don't think I can wait until the 29th to find out if I win.
Posted by: Susan | February 03, 2008 at 04:00 PM
The nursing necklace is my fav. It's not as colorful and flashy as others i have seen. It is actually stylish and simple, just my speed.

I love the JULIAN & Co. for Mom 18K necklace. I also love the nursing necklace. Something to keep that baby focused instead of whipping off to look at the dog.
Posted by: Vicky | February 03, 2008 at 03:53 PM
Hope everyone is better soon! Hang in there!
I really like the "Mini JULIAN & Co. for Mom" from Julian & Co. (I am a sentimental nut! LOL!)
Posted by: Stacey | February 03, 2008 at 03:52 PM
I love the nursing necklace. Something to stop those "what'sovertherewhydon'tIlookwhilestilllatchedontightly" moments.
Posted by: Lindsay | February 03, 2008 at 02:46 PM
the delmar is exactly my speed. i love the simplicity of line, and function. it looks like a good size for little fingers to grab too...
Posted by: catherine | February 03, 2008 at 02:36 PM
How beautiful! I love how it is all so streamlined and not too "fancy" for everyday wear... I think besides the birth necklace I'm going to have to agree with everyone else here about the nursing necklace... we're down to 3 sessions a day, but she makes up for it with even more poking, squeezing, twisting, pinching and grabbing - I swear she wants to tear one of them off and keep it with her! So yes, I think the nursing necklace would do me a lot of good. :)
Posted by: Monya | February 03, 2008 at 02:33 PM
I love the nursing necklace- had seen some at another site, but they were really big and colorful with stones and such. I prefer the simplicity of the Julian&Co.
Posted by: emily | February 03, 2008 at 01:54 PM
I love all of it, but I'd probably pick the heart id bracelet for my daughter... her first real jewelry!
Posted by: tracey | February 03, 2008 at 01:49 PM
I like the Mini, but the Julian & CO. for MOM (The bigger one) is what I would have to get. My daughter's name won't fit on the smaller one. I didn't think about these things when I named her. I know for the next one!
Posted by: Christy | February 03, 2008 at 01:05 PM
I love the small birth necklace. I'm due with my first next month, and my husband had better get me one for Mother's Day.
Unless I win, of course. :)
Posted by: Pamela | February 03, 2008 at 12:52 PM
I really like the basic Birth Necklace.
I would have LOVED the nursing necklace (fabulous idea) but I'm only nursing once a day now. Sniff. Tear.
Posted by: submommy | February 03, 2008 at 11:33 AM
I like the mini Julian and Co charm, it would be small enought that its not obvious what exactly my necklace says.
Posted by: Jennifer | February 03, 2008 at 11:31 AM
I love the JULIAN & Co. for Mom Bracelet - just beautiful!
Posted by: Wisconsin Mommy | February 03, 2008 at 11:00 AM
I like the Mini Julian & Co for Mom.
Does she have a suggestion box, cause I'd love something like that but a bit bigger so it'd fit birth specs on it (my oldest was born at 28wks, so I appreciate the desire to express that). I'd also like to be able to order a single chain but with two pendants (or more, for other Moms) since I have two kids.
