The Cruise Tries to Schmooze

Apparently, Tom Cruise is trying to smooth things over regarding the Brooke Shields debaucle. From what I can figure out, it's not an apology, nor are the words directly quoted from his mouth, but rather interpretations and sentiments being shared by his rep.

So basically, it's nothing.

And from what I can read, the only thing he's really said (again through a rep) is that his statements were misrepresented. So, his direct quotes that I heard on Oprah and Today were not really from his mouth? I mean, did some martian come down and speak them for him? I guess with some of the stuff that's been going on with him, it wouldn't be that far off if they blamed it on aliens.

I imagine it's his staff's attempts to patch things up with Paramount. Or perhaps Katie is struggling and he realizes that maybe he put his foot pretty far down his throat and it might behoove him (both personally and professionally) to get it out of there.

I'm saddened to see Katie out and about (with and without him) sans baby. I imagine it's got to be tough to not be able to take your child out. And then I wonder - why is she NOT doing it? I understand the paparazzi are chasing her down and dying to get a picture, however, isn't there a point when you just have to get over it and get out with your baby?

I hate to be sucked in by this yet again, however, it's hard to ignore. Particularly when it comes to the topic of Post Pardum Depression. The only thing that I can hope for is that he gains some clarity.

And for god sakes stops jumping on couches.

Speaking of which, I might just have to go jump on some couches myself. My post on fear in motherhood is up at the Huffington Post along with the wonderfully talented Her Bad Mother.

I don't know. From what I heard, directly from Tom's mouth, he was sounding pretty judgmental himself. And, call me cynical, but the timing of this "smoothing over" comes too hot on the heels of the whole split with Paramount to be unconnected to it. Tom Cruise is certainly entitled to his feelings, and the First Amendment guarantees his right to express them, no matter how freakily he does so. Come to think of it, those same rights apply to me, and so I say: I think Tom Cruise is a major weenie, and I don't like him.

We all have our opinions on what we believe and what we don't believe. Tom Cruise like everyone else has his own opinions. I'm not saying that I agree with his opinions, I heard them and you know what, if that what he believes, that's fine. I'm not hear to judge him. Brooke Shields said she was at a point when she wanted to harm her child, did anyone take the child away, to protect her from her mother? I don't know the answer. Sure, when i had my daughter I was always crying, but over time it went away. Did I want to harm my child, NO!! So, don't judge Tom Cruise because of what he feels, because no one judge Brooke Shields for wanting to harm her daughter. Plus remember Nicole never conceived their children, they were both adopted. Maybe Katie Holmes experience some of the postpartum depression after she had Suri. People change, and I bet it's not because his production company got fired from Paramount. We don't know the whole story and no one should Judge him.

I am so ALL DONE with that idiot!

He's such a schmuck.
