I've Officially Entered Blogging Nerd-dom

Yes. That is a digital voice recorder. You know. Because it takes so much energy to pull out my notebook and write down a funny note about the lady I just saw use a check to pay for her decaf coffee at the book store.

I was sort of hoping that they came in watch form - so at least I'd look sort of "secret spy meets Knight Rider." But alas, no such luck.

I figure I'm going to need to be able to fit something into my nursing bra for the long late nights when I have lots to say and nary a free hand to write it down.

Yeah, I almost got in a car accident trying to write down an idea for a blog post while I was driving. I'm not sure the recorder would work for me since my 7 yo would be all like, "What did you say? What?"

I'm not in your blog writing league, of course... but nurse and blog is all systems go over here. Hell I'm doing it right now

OMG I have to have one of those!

Just yesterday I thought to myself...I need a voice recorder...because when I am composing stories in my head...they can be REALLY funny...but then I sit down to write them and have forgotten the REALLY funny way in which I said it in my head!

(Or maybe the stories that I THINK are REALLY funny...are simply tangible evidence for the fact that I have my head up my ass! And the reason that the story is not as funny as when it was still just floating around in my head is...well, it is not really that funny!!)

But...I need a voice recorder to know that for sure! ;)

Ohhhh. Cool!

I often wish I had my laptop with me so I could go to ODEO and record all the silly conversations I have with Mimi. Come to think of it, the digital voice recorder might be a bit easier...

Good thinking MacGyver.

I got my dad something like that for father's day years ago. His wife told me it was a dumb gift. To this day, he will not leave home without it.

You're like a real live journalist now!

Such a damn good idea! I usually repeat ideas to myself so I won't forget - but I never seem to remember them! AARRGHH!!!

What I want are one of those digital voice recorders that plug in via USB and transfer into text. THAT would be sweet -

I used a voice recorder to help me write my novel when I was breastfeeding my son.
It works fine !:-)

Sad...but I looked at that and thought...what a good idea!

I was at Target the other day and was totally drooling over the voice recorders. I had to tear myself away from that aisle...but it won't be long until I buy one too.

However, I'm cracking up just THINKING about using it in public. I don't know if I could do it. LOL

For nursing bloggers:

The nursing recording bra that also holds an ipod

Do I have any takers?

I have one of those. One warning, though: be careful with it in your purse, or the lock button will be hit and everything will be erased. Take it from one who knows.

That. Is. The. Bomb. I have to have one.

I have oneof those. They're great but it's never handy when I need it and I always feel dumb talking into it if anyone else is around...lol

Nike has those shirts that fit an Ipod, maybe that would work... right there on the sleeve! I love the watch idea too!
Everyone could use one. You should coin that idea and run with it- lots of $ to be made! And the mommy-at-night recording her thoughts idea is great. I used a journal, that would be much more effective!

I've been wanting one of those if only so I had something to record my thoughts while I was in the shower.

If you want to look all cool you can hide the recorder in your sleeve with velcro. Or you could hide it in your shoe like the guy from "Get Smart". Scratch that last one.

hey, I have one of those too (My husband used it when he was writing for the newspaper here)- it didn't even dawn on me to use it for blogging purposes... Hmm...

Those are a lifesaver sometimes!! When I went on my roadtrip, I made sure to have one next to me at all times. I loved what I came back with! :)

We have a Dell DJ that has a built-in mic. We bought it years ago. About 8 months ago, I recommended it to my wife (who's a film critic) for when she goes on interviews with stars and directors. It works wonders.

Oh what a wonderful idea! I so need one of those! And I don't think it's geeky at all. Well, maybe a little...

I have totally been wanting one of those!!! I have my best ideas when I am driving and wish that I could write them down.

I think it's a great idea. Very practical for those times when you get pregnancy brain. You can use it to remind yourself of things.

I want one.

Ooooh. Jealous over here.

Awesome! That looks fun.

I'd leave it on the table in Starbucks and worry about what other people would hear when they found it.

Dude, that is awesome. I think I want one of those more than I want an iPod.

Actually, I would use it to record the girls too. I have precious little of their silliness on audio record.

that is hysterical! i can't wait to read the first post that you, er, transcribe :)

I've been thinking of the same thing. I figure if I use it in public I can pretend that I'm talking on a really weird looking cell phone. Odds are, no one will notice because half the world appears to be talking to themselves while walking down the street (ahhhh technology!). And if that fits into your nursing bra? Wowzers!

So funny! My IRL best friend suggested that I get a dictaphone (isn't that what they USED to be called?) I started instead by leaving notebooks in every room of the house. Problem is, my kids can read so I have to write in code. The problem? I have to remember my own code. I'm thinking maybe I need me onna those darned machines too.

Cool idea. Someone should market a watch style, I'd buy one!
